Police confirm identity of body found floating in Florida lake

Police say they have identified the body found floating this past weekend in a Florida lake.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office reported the body was found Saturday morning floating in Lake Clinch in Frostproof.

Police said the body has been identified as 26-year-old Daniel Angeles-Dimas, who had been missing since Jan. 2.

What we know

Officials said Angeles-Dimas last was seen Jan. 1.

Records show Angeles-Dimas was entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System Jan. 2.

Angeles-Dimas last was seen wearing a light blue, long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans, the NamUs states. 

Police said a resident discovered the body floating near the shore of Lake Clinch at about 10:20 a.m. Saturday.

Sheriff's stated the man was identified as Angeles-Dimas.

What we don't know

Officials reported an autopsy was performed on the body on Monday, but the Medical Examiner's office is waiting on the results of toxicology tests before determining the cause and manner of death. 

The results are expected to take several months, police said.
