ORLANDO, Fla. - Florida's rare snowfall has shut down a portion of Interstate 10.

I-10 is closed in both directions from the Florida-Alabama state line to US-90 (exit 192) in the Panhandle due to lingering snow, ice, and water on the roadway. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) warns that incoming freezing temperatures overnight will create icy and dangerous conditions on bridges and roadways.

The closure went into effect on Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. Drivers are asked to take alternate routes until further notice.
