UCF Football has shared a video of their star quarterback McKenzie Milton and his progress after a serious leg injury last year.

The video is captioned 'One step at a time' and it shows Milton walking for the first time without crutches in 5 months.

Milton was taken off the field on a cart during a game in November last year.

The injury occurred in the second quarter, as Milton was rushing with the football in USF Bulls' territory. The junior stayed down after the tackle, and players and coaches on the USF sideline immediately alerted the training staff.

Milton spent weeks in the hospital and underwent five surgeries to repair his leg.

Since then, he's been on a road to recovery, sharing videos of the process on his social media accounts for fans, which have racked up hundreds of thousands of views.

During a one-on-one interview with Fox 35, Milton says he'd still like to make it to the NFL, but it that doesn't happen, he would like to be a coach.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, and I'm just taking it one day at a time. That's the only way you can approach something like this. For me, it's just knocking down a little block at a time."
