Temperatures will start to rise as we head into the holiday weekend.

Central Florida residents can expect mostly sunny skies from Wednesday through the weekend. Although some clouds may accumulate in the afternoons, rain chances remain low.

Forecasters predict just a 20% chance of isolated pop-up showers or thunderstorms typical for Florida during the holiday weekend. No widespread or significant weather events are anticipated for the coming week.

LOOKING AHEAD:

The main story for the Memorial Day weekend will be the heat, with record-challenging temperatures expected across the region.

Beach and boating conditions will be favorable, with southwest winds ranging from 5 to 15 miles per hour throughout the weekend.

Only slim rain chances are forecast for next weekend, as much of Central Florida is experiencing moderate drought conditions.

In the tropics, there has been no tropical development in the Atlantic and Pacific basins through this point in the year, a phenomenon not seen since 1983.
