The Port Canaveral Port Authority Board of Commissioner has accepted CEO John Walsh's resignation, after a failed attempt by Commissioner Jerry Allender to fire Walsh.  Allender and Commissioner Tom Weinberg claimed Walsh "wasn't truthful" with them about the port's large financial dealings.

Walsh countered that he has always been focused on the best interest of the port, which has included overseeing several hundred million dollars of capital improvements, laying the foundation for commercial cargo, and signing cruise ship companies to long term deals during the last five years. Walsh said he will stay on until January 21, 2016, to help make a smooth transition for his replacement.
