Stream FOX 35 News
ORLANDO, Fla. - Scattered storms will continue throughout the evening, quieting down tonight with partly cloudy skies late.
Patchy fog is possible late tonight into early tomorrow morning, especially along the coastlines. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid-70s.
LOOKING AHEAD: For the rest of the workweek, afternoon and evening storms will be possible, but they will be very scattered. There is a 30-40% chance of storms.
Drier air pushes in for the weekend, so get ready for some gorgeous weather. Things will stay dry except for a stray storm so make sure you get outside this weekend. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s and humidity will be low. We will stay rain-free and less humid conditions around through early next week.
Tracking the Tropics
The FOX 35 Storm Team is watching three zones for possible tropical development.
The first is in the Southern Caribbean. This has a 40% chance of developing in the next seven days. Models give every scenario, so it is difficult to tell at this point the strength and path of the storm as the wave has not even formed yet. However, we do know at this time that the conditions are right in that zone for a tropical system to take off.
The ocean temperatures are very warm and the low shear in that zone could lead to a homegrown tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico, so we will be monitoring this closely. Ultimately, if a system does form, it could intensify very quickly. It is still way too early to tell. For now, it is just an area of interest.
The second zone is in the Central Atlantic with a 30% chance of forming in the next seven days. The third zone is in the Central Atlantic with a 20% chance of forming in the next seven days.
The next few names on the list are Helene, Isaac, and Joyce. We still have quite a bit of Hurricane season to go so do not let your guard down. Hurricane season ends November 30th.
