Big changes are on the way across Central Florida as a cold front pushes through later Wednesday. This will help to bring a brief window of showers and thunderstorms to the region, mainly through late morning and into the early afternoon.

A few of these could be on the gusty side, with heavy downpours and lightning possible. A few rotating clusters will be possible as well, but our threat of tornadoes is very low today.

Timeline: When could we see rain in Orlando?

Rain chances increase during the middle of the day, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Chances then begin to decrease at 4 p.m. and they should move out of the area during the evening commute home.

What are the main weather threats?

The main weather threats will be moments of heavy rain, lightning, and damaging winds. There is a low chance of a potential tornado as these storms form and move through.

Looking ahead: Thursday Orlando Forecast

Thursday has been declared a Weather Impact Day.

Thursday begins on a much colder note across Central Florida with a gusty northerly wind. Temperatures will dip down into the 30s and 40s for morning lows. Once we factor in the wind, wind chills for many will be in the 30s as well. A heavier jacket will be needed as you're getting out the door tomorrow morning! By tomorrow afternoon, sunshine will help bring temperatures into the low and mid 60s for highs.

When will the temperatures warm up?

Our cold snap won't last for very long. By Friday, highs will be back in the 70s as more seasonable temperatures last through the weekend.

A few spotty showers can't be ruled out for next weekend as well, with a 30% chance for Sunday.
