Osceola Sheriff Candidates' different backgrounds

Both candidates for Osceola County Sheriff, Incumbent Democrat Marcos Lopez and Republican challenger Donnie Martinez joined FOX 35 for a debate in October. Lopez rose through the ranks at the Sheriff's Office, while Martinez is a career businessman who completed the law enforcement academy, but does not have law enforcement experience. Lopez won his first election in 2020 with nearly two-thirds of the vote.

State Attorney Campaigns heating up on Election Day

The State Attorney's race for Orange and Osceola Counties comes with a big backstory, as incumbent State Attorney Andrew Bain is running against Monique Worrell, who he replaced after Governor Ron DeSantis suspended her. Worrell is running as a Democrat, and Andrew Bain is running as an independent.

Poll: Majority of Floridians support Amendments 3 and 4

FOX 35's Garrett Wymer gives an update on early polling of voters' support of Amendments 3 and 4 on the Florida ballot. Amendment 3 would legalize recreational marijuana, and Amendment 4 would enshrine the right to an abortion into the state Constitution until fetal viability. Governor Ron DeSantis and Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis have spoken out against both Amendments. All amendments need 60% of the vote to pass.

Election website crash didn't impact voting: officials

Florida's election website crashed this morning due to record-high numbers of people trying to access the site, according to state officials. The voter information lookup section showed an error wen voters tried to find their polling place or check their registration status.

Two Georgia voting precincts open later after delays

Two voting precincts in Cobb County, Georgia will be open until 7:20p.m. after equipment issues caused the openings of these voting precincts to be delayed. FOX 35's Kim Leoffler reports from one of those precincts, where voters casting their ballot through extended hours will need to do so via a provisional ballot, since there is a federal candidate on the ballot, but their votes will be counted.
