No COVID-19 deaths have been reported at the Orange County Jail. Still, as the virus has spread rapidly among Florida's inmate population, jail officials are taking extra precautions.

More vaccines arrive at select Winn-Dixie stores on Thursday

Winn-Dixie will start giving out COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday, receiving 8,100 doses to start. Meanwhile, Walmart and Sam's Club will start vaccinating people on Friday. With this new program, plus what the counties and hospitals are doing, the state expects to administer more than 65,000 vaccines this week.

Orange County officials are warning residents of fraudulent vaccination sites trying to take advantage of people who want a shot. The county has received complaints from some people who say they have been charged for the vaccine. Mayor Jerry Demings said the county will never charge you.

Seminole County shorted vaccines

Seminole County said it was shorted coronavirus vaccines from the state for weeks. It fought the state to prove their numbers were off, and they won. Seminole County had been receiving 1,900 doses a week, but the state will try to make up for that by sending nearly 4,000 this week.
