Due to frequent late summer afternoon showers, many teams high school football teams are having to tweak their practices. The Apopka Blue Darters have taken many of their practices indoors and that has impacted their footing this season.

Orlando native stars at Warrior Games

Orlando native Army Staff Sgt. (RET) Joel Rodriguez will be one of the busiest athletes at this weekend's Warrior Games at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The Colonial High School graduate will be competing in Track and Field, Rowing, Swimming, and Wheelchair Basketball. Rodriguez is a quadriplegic due to a car accident. But he used sports to help in his recovery. He has now traveled the world competing in different events and has a goal of representing Team USA in the Paralympic Games in Rugby.

Tom Brady to be away from Bucs for a few days, coach says

Tom Brady was nowhere to be seen during the final practice before the first preseason game this weekend. In fact, he will be away from the team for the next few days. Head Coach Todd Bowles said Thursday the quarterback will be out for 11 days for personal reasons until after the Tennessee Titans game next week. It was discussed and approved prior to the beginning of camp.
