Bobcat appears to be starved, injured

Neighbors and animal rescue volunteers are trying to save a bobcat on the brink of death. They stumbled into Merilee Hanson’s Rockledge backyard on Tuesday. She noticed it looked it was starving, and its leg was severely fractured. The bobcat eluded rescuers for two days, but they haven’t given up. The Wild Florida Rescue team says finding the injured animal in the Pine Cove neighborhood is like finding a needle in a haystack. Volunteers set out new traps with fresh food and will check them on Thursday. Neighbors want to see the bobcat out of its misery.

The Brevard County Fire Department is investing $20,000 in 20 new heat-seeking cameras across the department. It's important to have an extra "set of eyes" when a firefighter goes into a smoke-filled room because can’t see their hands or really anything in front of their faces, but thermal-imaging cameras can.

2 killed in Titusville double shooting

A double shooting outside an apartment complex in Titusville left two men dead Monday afternoon, police said. One man was found outside a vehicle while another was found inside a vehicle. Police said the alleged suspects, who have not been identified this time, left the area before police arrived.
