FHSAA postpones fall sports until at least Aug. 24

The start of fall sports for high schools in Florida has been pushed back to August 24. The Florida High School Athletic Association voted to allow schools to start practice in late July, as is traditional, but no counties took up the proposal.

'Give Kids The World Village' not reopening

The coronavirus is causing more closures, this time hitting Give Kids The World. The nonprofits resort in Central Florida says it will remain closed due to the pandemic and is laying off 171 workers .

Protests in Kissimmee remained peaceful on Monday

Demonstrations continued across Central Florida today and into the evening. Crowds in Orlando moved from Lake Eola Park to City Hall to Orlando Police Headquarters as they did the night before. In Kissimmee, police officers joined crowds as they marched through the streets showing solidarity.

Vacation rental industry ready to reopen

The vacation rental industry in Osceola County has lost millions during the coronavirus lock down. Rental owners are asking county leaders to press Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to give them permission to reopen.
