Sanford student saves puppy's life

At Sanford Middle School, they offer many elective classes. From robotics to pre-vet classes, to expose students to all kinds of disciplines and maybe inspire future career goals. And one 13-year-old student took what she learned in her pre-vet class and applied it nearly 2 weeks later, giving lifesaving CPR and mouth-to-snout resuscitation to a puppy that was born without breathing. The puppy is now 3 months old, thriving and growing every day. The teen adopted the dog and is now training him! Watch her inspiring story and meet her new dog, Asher!

New connector road to Sanford Airport planned

A new connector road from SR-417 to the Sanford International Airport is in the works. The road is expected to take some strain off of Lake Mary Boulevard - a street way often used for travelers to get to the airport.

Driver crashes into home after medical episode

A driver died after crashing into a home in Sanford while having a medical episode, police said. The incident happened Sunday afternoon when the driver crashed into a home on Sanford Avenue and 25th Place. Police said no one was injured as a result of the crash, but the driver passed away at the hospital from a medical episode.
