Authorities in Daytona Beach say what sounded like gunshots were actually fireworks that were set off on the campus of Mainland High School. The incident prompted a lockdown and fears that a shooter was on the loose.

Authorities have arrested a juvenile in connection to an incident at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach. Officers responded to calls of a possible school shooting, but when they arrived, they discovered a disruption was caused by the setting off of fireworks.

Man shuts down Daytona Beach airport after scaling fences

Deputies say a man scaled two fences at Daytona Beach International Airport, disrupting operations at the airport. A pilot first noticed the man after he jumped a fence and was running toward a runway. About an hour later, he was seen climbing another fence, and that prompted all flights to be shut down.
