Bail bondsman bonds out of jail in Orange County

A bail bondsman has just bonded out of jail after a judge dissolved his pre-trial detention in Orange County. Russell Moncrief, 75, is accused of trading bond for sexual favors. He had been behind bars since his arrest in 2024. Even though he can go home, Moncrief is still facing charges for human trafficking and racketeering. He also has to wear a GPS monitor and is on house arrest.

21 horses killed in Marion County barn fire, officials say

An early morning barn fire in Marion County has claimed the lives of 21 horses, officials say. Firefighters said they found the 10,000-square-foot, single-story barn fully engulfed in flames, and the roof had collapsed on top of the structure.

Alleged scammer tracked down in Michigan

A Michigan woman was arrested in Florida for allegedly scamming a local resident out of $52,000, according to Sheriff Mike Chitwood. Demetria Latimer, 59, was booked into the Volusia County jail on charges organized scheme to defraud and grand theft. Investigators believe Latimer may have played a key role in laundering money from other victims nationwide.
