Tropical Storm Ian Forecast: Ian expected to become major hurricane

Tropical Storm Ian is expected to rapidly strengthen Sunday night, and become a hurricane early Monday, and a major hurricane on Monday night or Tuesday morning, according to National Hurricane Center. As of 2 p.m., Tropical Storm Ian was 265 miles south-southeast of Grand Cayman, and about 540 miles southeast of western Cuba. Maximum sustained winds were 50 mph. The present movement of the storm is west-northwest at 12 mph. Tonight, Ian is expected to pass Jamaica, then Cayman Islands on Monday, and near western Cuba Monday night, and be in the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday.
