Hurricane Helene forms, to become major Cat. 3 storm on approach to Florida

Helene strengthened to a Category 1 hurricane on Wednesday and is projected to intensify into a major hurricane over the Gulf of Mexico on its approach to Florida, according to the National Hurricane Center.
