Former classmate describes accused FSU shooter

A Lakeland native says he took classes with the suspected Florida State University (FSU) shooter in the fall of 2024. Ian Townsend said the suspect, 20-year-old Phoenix Iker, was unafraid to engage in political debates, but did not indicate violence. Ikner allegedly killed two and injured six during the mass shooting on Thursday near the school' Student Union. He was taken to the hospital after being shot by law enforcement.
