Sanford student saves puppy's life

At Sanford Middle School, they offer many elective classes. From robotics to pre-vet classes, to expose students to all kinds of disciplines and maybe inspire future career goals. And one 13-year-old student took what she learned in her pre-vet class and applied it nearly 2 weeks later, giving lifesaving CPR and mouth-to-snout resuscitation to a puppy that was born without breathing. A family was happy to be reunited with Tequila - their French bulldog - that was stolen from them back in June. A woman befriended the family at a dog park and offered to take care of her while the family was in the process of moving.

Rise in mystery dog respiratory illness

A mysterious illness has dog owners on high alert. Veterinarians are reporting a spike in respiratory issues but experts said it is too soon to determine if this is a new illness or an existing one. The illness reportedly began in one of the Western states over the summer. Cases have now been reported from Florida to California.

Stray dog saved from being euthanized

Loretta couldn’t walk because she was so skinny and had a severe skin infection. Six weeks later, she’s healthy thanks to the local nonprofit Furever Home Animal Rescue in Titusville. Loretta is up for adoption, along with nearly 200 other animals at the shelter.
